If you operate a Windows Cluster you'll know that reliabily scheduling and scripting normal or VSS snapshots can be difficult as volumes and resources can move around the cluster nodes. This is especially true when using Windows 2008 Hyper-V and virtual machines.
Our software works by dynamically following volumes as they move between cluster nodes. Snapshots can be normal or volume shadow copies (if licensed by DataCore) and triggered according to a custom schedule.
As part of the process it can unmount the destination volume from a back-up server, free the used blocks, create the snapshot and re-mount the volume on the backup server.
Volumes can be included in your snapshot process simply by adding their name to the XML configuration file.
It's compatible with Windows 2003 and Windows 2008. All this without any scripts
or batch files.
